Every few months medical schools send Namikango medical interns who are nearing the end of their studies and need practical experience. These interns work with our maternity clinic and gain medical experience, while serving in a ministry capacity. The goal of this internship is to form holistic medical practitioners who can connect their expertise with their vocation and make Malawi a healthier country.
Last week, the current batch of interns came to the end of their time with us, and I was privileged to celebrate with them at their farewell party as we prepared to send them back to school. As always, there were speeches, gifts, and cokes. It was a fun afternoon, and always a joy to be a part of these celebrations.
