Several months ago, Ben traveled to Lilongwe to pick up a visitor who had come to Malawi for a few days. The trip takes about four hours, and because of the plane’s delayed arrival, Ben had to drive back part of the trip after dark. This is something we usually try to avoid as a team, simply because the roads get a bit more hectic and dangerous after dark. About fifteen minutes from arriving to Zomba, their car got a flat tire, which is always stressful. But to make matters more distressing, the spare was also flat!
Calls went out and Ryan and I quickly got in another car to go meet them along the road, bringing a spare to help Ben get back home. Life in Malawi is never dull, and always full of interesting, albeit unexpected, adventures!
